Hub Printable Vs. Non-Hub Printable Artwork

Depending on the style, type of images, and the amount of text you need on the disc, we offer both Hub Printable and Non-Hub Printable disc options. The "Hub" is the clear plastic ring in the center of the disc. It is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter, including the 1/2" hole. Using this space can provide almost an extra inch of printable surface area. All of our DVD’s are Hub-Printable. We also offer Hub-Printable CD's with a white background.
On-Disc Print Options:
Full Color Inkjet - For photo-quality images and 4-color logos, full color inkjet printing can provide a more creative look for your project that commands attention. Inkjet printing allows 300 DPI images to be printed on either white or silver discs.
One Color Thermal Print – If you need a professional look at a lower price, then thermal printing is your answer. Available in the standard Black, as well as red or blue, thermal printing allows for a single color to be used for any text based layouts. Thermal print is available on white or silver discs.
Silkscreen Print – Available only for orders of 1,000 pieces or more, silk screen printing is the industry standard for CD's and DVD's. Its great for artwork with areas of solid color, and if your artwork uses spot colors, silk screen is also a great option. Silkscreen printing uses 100 lines of resolution, and is generally more affordable than Off-Set Printing.
Offset Print – Also available only for orders of 1,000 pieces or more, offset printing is a newer, more advanced technology for on-disc printing. Offset printing uses 175 lines of resolution in the screens vs. silk screen's 100 lines. The additional resolution allows for photo-quality images to remain crystal clear, where a silk screened image may look grainier with less precise half-tones.
